That is impressive! M4 is a power house.

Done a 2:43.0 with a rubbish ATB diff, need to go back now I've a decent plated LSD

Nice video, what power and weight is the car? - And what 'rubbish' ATB were you running, Wavetrack would have you believe that their ATB is better than a plated LSD

Haven’t weighed it in a while but roughly 1350kg with low to no fuel or people on board & made 340bhp last time out, but that was rollered with under pressured track compound tyres, so exact figure maybe a touch more.

Wavetrac would be lying! That’s what I had and now I’ve gone for a decent plated LSD and it’s leeps and bounds better.

Yes 2:41 is quite unbelievable for a stock M4.... because it wasn’t true!!! I edited the post but it did 2:44 according to the video footage, which is still impressive for such a road car.

Nice vid of the e46 and very impressive time, kick the passenger out and bet you’d be 2:41 smile

Only vid I’ve uploaded is after the decision had been made to euthanise the tyres lolol

https://youtu.be/cMe7OAnLrxM
What pads did you end up going with? I'm back at Bedford on Nov 5th with the M2, hoping to beat the 2:44 I set last time out!

Ferrodo DS Uno front and ds2500 back, worked brilliantly! Wear seems a bit excessive at the front; they’ve done 2 track days, I’d be surprised if they managed another 2.

2:44 is already great for a stock M2, good luck in beating that and share some footage!! smile

Cheers chap! - How many seconds, ball park, do you feel slicks gain you over track bias tyres, AD08R, Cup2 etc, at Bedford?

2:57 on st NS2R tyres - 260bhp @ 1235kg before my fat arse is in it. Track still had some damp bits but overall pretty dry.

I've been as low as 2:49 in the summer on Michelin 25/64/18 S8L slicks

I would like to drive Bedford but my car records as 102db static at Oulton ... Presumably msv use the same equipment. I just need to find 1db!
Would sticking one of those cans on the end buy me the 1db I need? Or would it cause damage... (Radical sr3, hayabusa engine)

2:42 for me (Clubsport M4) on a casual lap with a couple of mistakes and coasting into the back chicane. Will do a 2:39.x next time out when it’s warmer.

2:34 is madness really. Would love to see the onboard.

Its the drive by that is the issue at Bedford and not the static. - Static limit is decent, drive by is very low and fiercely enforced, two strikes and your sent home, ask me how I know!

Noise meters are visible but result in the need to short shift or lift and coast, both suck!

My old M140i did 2:45, on kumho v700 and EBC RPX pads but otherwise stock. Pretty impressed as it was only a second slower than my m4 on MPSS tyres.

Pete, what’s the spec of your M4 and any news on the exhaust you’re running? Car looks monstrously quick 👏👏

Sam you’ve always been too fast around Bedford in standard cars lol.

My M4 is monstrously quick, I’m just driving it badly. Exhaust is a custom one I’ve been developing with Deutschtech as I was forever being black-flagged with the M-Perf exhaust even with valves closed. Hybrid turbo M4s are very very loud.

It is 3” bore with sport cats (MOT friendly still) and a the biggest back boxes possible and swappable tips. It has down-turned tips for Bedford and Brands, Akra tips for everywhere else. Saturday was the first time I didn’t get black-flagged despite being full throttle past the noise sensors, though I only did 8 laps later in the afternoon after signing in at 3pm. Next step is to reproduce the development exhaust in Ti.

Car has Intrax, Drexler plus lift kit, Pure Turbos (not required on a track car), Direzzas, BTCC drakes front and rear. Plus Insane 4 pin crank hub for engine safety. Not a huge mod list really.

Trying to keep two tyres on the track F1 style tongue out If it’s ok for Max it’s ok for me too. Seriously though that one may have been close, I’d screwed that whole section up anyway.

You’re far too modest!!!

It’s not exactly easy driving a rwd car with well over 500lb/ft that comes on in about 0.000001 secs!! But you’re taming the beast with the lap times to prove smile

That’s such a good spec. I commented on the YouTube vid but bet the drexler makes a fair difference?

Guessing that if I need to ask how much the exhaust costs I can’t afford it?

I have catless down pipes with stock system and it’s way too loud for Bedford which is really annoying. Planning to get the stock downpipes put back but it’s such a faff and waste of time/money having to get it remapped etc, would also sacrifice some power and add some heat.

It’s definitely worth giving Ben at Deutschtech a call about it. I don’t think it’ll be that expensive tbh, but it’s all relative I guess compared to an Akra lol. Maybe we can do a deal for the one on my car as I want to reproduce it in titanium. Lemme discuss with Ben.

I went from being black-flagged instantly to lapping flat out after 6 visits and subsequent exhaust modifications based on the nice pictures they give you with the db readings.
