I expect anything much faster will get very expensive if you can even find anyone to rent to you. The fastest karts I suspect are the long circuit superkarts but not sure you could rent one easily as they do the best part of 160mph.

All I am looking for is something quicker than the "standard" 125cc karts you get, at most tracks.
The standard twin engines karts at Daytona are pretty quick and are 200-250cc each so half a litre.
The Dmax carts are about 250cc single engined karts but with more power.
Normal karts good for about 60mph Dmax carts can do over 90mph.
I have not been in the Dmax karts, but the eager Daytona is a really interesting challenging circuit as is Milton Keynes and buckmore park in Kent has single engines 400cc Honda power and when we went there on my stag we were lapping at an average speed of 90kph.

I think the dmax karts are a rotax 125 junior engine with 22hp still a lot more than 4 stroke hire karts The Dmax carts are about 250cc single engined karts but with more power..
I suspect (although would check) the link I put up is for the 28hp senior rotax Max which are really good fun

What do you mean with "standard" 125cc karts that you usually get?
The pro karts in the various circuit are usually bigger 4 stroke engines (twin engined 320cc in Lakeside and 390cc in Buckmore adn Daytona)
Just went yesterday to Daytona Sandown (in Esher) for an arrive and drive with D-Max.
They are about 22 Hp and in the straight you will reach about 90km/h. Certainly more fun than the 4 stroke in Buckmore or Twin engine in Lakeside (was there last week) which are still very good fun (and closer for me that I live in Kent)
In daytona they are also testing GoPro on the Helmets (got one having to pay only for the SD card)
Club 100 has some testing sessions in various circuit, check on their site (but never tried them)
They are 125cc 2 stroke and can run up to 70-75mph as they also say at the briefing

Buckmore is one of the longest but there is no way you can have an average speed of 90km/h with the RT8 kart there (probably you cannot even reach that speed on the cicuit with those kartEdited by Riccardino on Sunday 31st July 16:54
It's many years since I was around carts, are any of the above carts using a manual gearbox?
I have a whisper cart with a fresh engine etc 6 speed with about 38 bhp which is fast but pretty old now and sat in my shed if you want it
If you want to sample a gearbox cart upto 250 cc Try Jade carts, they used to rent me a 250 just to practice with.
If your a serious racer these will be fun, if you've never experienced anything like these carts then you should be pleasantly suprised.
I seem to remember Martin Hines managing 180 mph out of a twin Rotax down the Silverstone old start straight just before Copse many moons ago.
I'm assuming your used to G force cos you'll feel it in a proper race cart,, the tyres are half the game so good racing slicks will test the strength and stamina of most blokes.
I remember driving Shennington in a 250 and effectively did 43 gear changes on a 45 second lap, one handed driving basically!

Probably the most exhilarating experiences of my life and, if honest, one or two of my scariest too I have a whisper cart with a fresh engine etc 6 speed with about 38 bhp which is fast but pretty old now and sat in my shed if you want it

I was understating it somewhat as I don't know if the OP has driven these things before, Head ripped off, hips battered and bruised, arms fading as your trying to turn the blighter's,
The nearest thing I can think of is an F1 car as in the 80's and 90's, Brutal but fantastic.
I read an interesting article once about an experienced race car test driver who'd driven some mighty beasts but never grew up in carts,,,
He had a test in a 250cc cart and it blew his mind,,, until you've done it it's hard to explain or even imagine, inner organs shifting about your body, if your not training for this stuff it will leave you totally spent within a few laps!
It takes such physical effort if your not fit you'll notice your brain lacking oxygen and a sense of slowly loosing conscienceness as your driving,, I'd raced some Iron man races and was very fit so I coped ok but after a day's testing, every muscle aching etc,
It's worth it for the knowledge of pain and big G's that real racers experience, crash gearbox allowing you to barely lift the throttle between gear changes and that smack in your back as you do it,, pure adrenalin fuelled stuff, these guys wear leathers,,,, ?
The final thing I'd like to point out is the brakes, gearbox carts employ front discs as well as the single rear disc,,
My little 125 does 0-60 mph in 3.1 seconds,,,, but it stops from 60 mph in 1.5 seconds,,, you can't change gear fast enough,, phenomenal feeling and braking from 6 th gear down to 2nd for a hairpin at such high speed and stopping so fast is inspiring,, it takes some bottle to trust it but they will respond to good driving and you'll feel epic.
I ve driven many karts in the past *at Buckmore park etc., but wanted something different and "quick".
I am not scared of power or lack the confidence or basic experience.
