Nice garage, I had a funny feeling there might be some rather decent cars in attendance.

Thanks - aiming to bring the E46 M3 (its being prepared for track, mainly for the ring in September so its having a shakedown test) and one other car - probably the 996 RS. My friend should be bringing a GT4

Hi - yes, Imola Red (dark shade) and the white 996 RS.

It was a good day today though I ran really for half a day. Firstly the 996 had a wheel balance issue which I needed to drive to a tyre place to sort out. Then after the first outing in the M3 it turned out the profile on the new R888Rs were causing a lot of rubbing of the rear tyres. The solution was to remove the spacer at the back, however, the only way to remount the tyres was to purchase a nut/stud set from one of the businesses in the vicinity and then convert the wheels from the original bolt design...

It was lovely meeting you all today! Damn good day all round for me - second full track day (brands was an evening) and in the Evora and first time on Silverstone in any configuration and found it a nice steep challenge. Knocked my times down from first sessions 3:40 a lap to 3:00 just before lunch to come back on and work on my lines and smoothness and came out of the day with a 2:45.7 - that was just before the crescendo of red flags stopped me every time i got halfway through my out laps... Still room for improvement and i know exactly where so i'll just keep hammering at it biggrin

Quite happy overall - the go pro footage is uploading very slowly.... i'll post it when its up biggrin

Dreading the photographers pics, i was concentrating so much i forgot he existed so i'll probably have a proper gurn on in the photos!

Those who are going to the Lotus Festival i'll see you there and hope to bump into people on track more!

ETA: I'm Hedgehogfromhell on TLF, SELOC etc.

I'll try and go through my 3 hours of GoPro footage this week and edit it down a bit. Typically I hadn't noticed that my card was full when I was on track with the LaF that annihilated me on the straights but I gained on under braking.

Interestingly I use one gear higher than you at all times and was even using 5th down hangar straight at 130+mph

I'm currently trying to source a pair of Pzero Corsa rear tyres...

Edit: Has anyone had their link to the photos yet?

It was good to meet up with you guys yesterday. The whole day was excellent and it was nice to let the 2-eleven find her legs on those long straights.

The only issue I had was what we thought was an oil leak with smoke coming out the engine bay after lunch but a quick trip to Lotus diagnosed leaking grease from the right hand inner drive shaft CV joint though they couldn't find a split in the gaiter. They cleaned it up and said see how it goes and we managed to get back for the last hour. When I checked at home there was further leakage so I'll get that sorted before the next outing. At least it's a relatively minor issue and straight forwards to fix.

Thanks havoc856 for the info on the aluminium rear diffuser. I think I'll invest in one and over winter get the suspension sand blasted and powder coated, then the car will be just as shiny underneath as on top!

Photos are up - but its not a digital download type affair. £39 for a folder of images on a CD and a whopping £45 for (one?) on an 8GB USB. Not bad shots mind you!

http://www.picman.co.uk/albums.php?alb=943882

The naming convention is an absolute arse - some of you are down as numbers and others by registration. Or model. Or nickname... LOL.

Hadrian, no dramas! I'll be investing in one myself alongside some barge boards in the near future!

My tyres are fine its the rear pads that have taken the hit for me... pricing up a full set of DS2500 as we speak...

Just bought my folder of photos, I clearly wasn't on track at the right times as there don't seem to be that many images of my car.

I've not even checked pads but assume they're ok...

Rear tyres are coming out at £225 each plus fitting

I have 19 images, of which there are a few "repeat shots" and one in the pitlane that could have been great but the shot is out of focus by masses... I'm only an amateur photographer but it really irritates me having to buy a folder of images containing several sub par shots just to get the 4 good ones....

"Maybe i should have provided my own" is the answer lol. Shame they don't do an MSV style system though.

For Corsas? That's a good price.. They're c.£250 per corner around me.

MR configured cars can be quite heavy on their rear pads - especially if the ESC uses the rears as a crude but effective LSD - which I'm sure Evora and V6 Exige (minus cup etc) do...

Most of mine are repeats too and a couple are out of focus.

This is about the best..

Apparently I need to credit the photographer too...so www.picman.co.uk

I will check my pads when I next take the car out. I purposely didn't use "Race Mode" as this apparently is very grabby on the rear brakes.

Let me guess, the LaFerrari, the GT3Rs' and the BAC Monos?

The GT40 was legit http://jalopnik.com/this-ford-gt40-is-an-active-ra...

I slowed down at one point to let it past so I could get the noise of the GT40 at full chat on my GoPro. Hopefully I'll get chance to edit down the 3.5 hours of footage tomorrow.
