Just come home from a seriously good day at RAF Woodbridge where TV5 was held today. A well organised event to test how fast you can hurl your machine down a 2 mile runway. Excellent value for money too. (Note to Organisers: Please don't go all VMAX on us and push the price out of the stratosphere).

All kinds of absurdly tuned and modified machines. The usual Audi S super modded cars, seriously physics defying 911s (one running at a reported 1100bhp) and a lot of nice like minded people.

I took my LP570-4 and best speed was 187mph, which given speed gates were at 1.5 miles, I was pleased with. That V10 howling inches from my ears was out of this world. Best part of the day though, was taking a young lad down the runway (182 mph on that run) who was Lamborghini mad and fulfilled a dream. His grin was a sight to behold.

Highly recommend this event.

Was good fun and some serious kit there too. Got 174 out of my old Merc turbo diesel, which is the fastest diesel they have had to date.

That was awesome seeing the old tug smoke down that runway. I'm still trying to work out how you got that speed. I am assuming there has been a little tinkering going on under the bonnet!
