I still want a proper pax lap at some point!
You need to remind me ! As you saw, I was always taking someone out and I never had an empty passenger seat.
I knew prior to the event that you'd be mega busy taking pax people out which is why i didn't ask, not a problem for me at all. Just one day when the planets all align i will hopefully be in a position to jump in. It's difficult sometimes as i just feel that i should be on my post looking after the customers so that always is my priority over taking myself off for laps beit own or pax.

another great write up Nigel. I grabbed a couple of sequenced photos (shot at 1/4000th) of your 'wagon taken from the hole in the fence by the petrol station opp' Dottinger. Need to layer them up and will post up at some point. In the meantime....the old touring cars used to get some serious "air":

bigger wheels & tyres next time maybe?

cheers, and will be seeing you go past me at the next DN event

Glad you enjoyed the writeup.

Photos from a different angle are always good smile

I know other cars get far more air than I do. It might not be the jump that caused it, but at this point I don`t know what else it could be.
I can`t realistically fit bigger wheels and tyres without ruining the handling. The MK2 just wasn`t designed for larger wheels, the geometry just doesn`t work.

Nige, I know I've said it elsewhere, but I've only just come across this thread (and thoroughly enjoyed reading your write up), so once more, thank you very, very much. First 'Ring lap; unforgettable. The Pinderwagen is a force to be reckoned with! Advice and encouragement on my first trip to the circuit was priceless.

With all the various pax laps (thank you all) and advice, by the time I actually got onto the circiut on day 2, I surprised myself by how much I did know my way around and how much I enjoyed it. I didn't know everywhere - Hoheneichen and Hedwigshohe were just two places where I knew roughly where the track went but not the right lines - and I was very mindful not to over-reach my limited knowledge, but I thoroughly enjoyed myself.

My car behaved impeccably, but if I want to get serious about track days, I need some bucket seats; I'm just tall enough that there's no easy way (with a decent driving position) to get clearance for my crash helmet on the roof. So that's the current consideration...
