I've never been, but Anglesey looks like a great circuit to drive. Especially for a lightweight car with modest power. Anyone here with an Elise or similar have experience of the track.
The thing is, I live in Northampton, and there are many circuits I can get to more easily, such as Silverstone, Donington, Cadwell & Brands Hatch.
So, is it worth the trip? I don't have a trailer, so it's a long old trip in a trackday car. I should add that I don't enjoy trackdays in the rain, and I assume it's more likely than not to rain?

It's a great circuit. I drove there from Brighton which is somewhat further than you have to go but I was in a mostly comfortable Clio 182.

There is a high chance of rain due to the exposed location next to the Irish Sea, it was wet in the morning when I was there then dried out through the day. If you wish to do a circuit that you haven't been to before I would highly recommend it.

Also Cadwell Park is one to consider, if you've not been there already.

Cadwell is just as good IMO.

I'd say it beats Brands (Indy) and Silverstone (Nat or Inter) and is an interesting alternative to Cadwell and Donny.

No fun just keeping doing the same tracks all the time so well worth the trip but there's only two types of weather on Anglesey so you'll either have a stunning day and fall in love with the place or it'll be like monsoon season!

I've done Cadwell on a motorbike, but never a car. I plan to include it next year.
However, I suspect a lap of Cadwell would be spent in people's way, or waiting for a chance to overtake. Anglesey looks wide enough to allow cars to overtake more easily.

Not as good as Cadwell but still one of the better tracks IMO.......it Wales FFS and it always rains in Wales.

Definitely worth the trip and a group of us hired a local cottage which was good fun and less draining than travelling on the same day.

It's a 3 hour journey for me, in the rain with no roof last time, and still worth it.
The weather on the Welsh coast is often better than it is inland, IME.

Good circuit, makes a nice double-header with Oulton. However if I only had 1 day I wouldn't drive past Oulton to get to it.

I used to live in Bromley and travel to Anglesey for trackdays. The old circuit was great with some epic corners. Hardly any facilities though. Was still worth the 5-6 hour drive in my Elise. This is a lap of the old circuit: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CABsuaoDD-Y

Since those days they've invested, changed and extended the circuit, put pits and facilities in and made lots of improvements. I still think it's worth the drive, even if the place has lost a little of its charm.

It's fab in the wet too, but if you don't like rain, don't go to Wales! laugh

We were there a couple of years back, for the 24hr 2cv race at the start of Sept.

The weather was, frankly, atrocious. Wet, but also VERY windy. We had to replace our tent during the weekend, destroyed by the wind in short order. It's inevitable given the location, right on the cliffs looking out across the water. Beautiful, but very VERY exposed.

If you're going to be put off by weather, don't even consider booking anything there in advance.

Not heard a 2CV described that way before but I guess they are a similar shape...;)

Silverstone is wide and fast. Anglesey is narrower and slower. They are a good contrast. Take a coat.

Silverstone is also flat as a pancake. Anglesey has some great elevation changes.

Anglesey is a great circuit particularly when wet, it flows like a big kart circuit

I have been twice this year in my Elise, I live near Edinburgh and think it is well worth the trip.

You guys are talking me into it. Maybe I'll look for a date in July or August. At least then there's a 15% chance of it being dry.
At the meeting moment I'm thinking 2017 will include Brands GP, Cadwell, Silverstone GP, Donington, Bedford, and Anglesey. And perhaps the Hethel test circuit.

Scrap Bedford and go to Rockingham instead.
