As the car is on finance, chancing it without insurance isn't an option.
Many companies can only offer cover if your policy is with them, but unfortunately none of these were competitive for the annual policy at the time.

Not much help in the short term, but I found MORIS much cheaper than anyone else. Around £90-100 for a single day's cover (£18k car with a £1k excess), vs at least twice that elsewhere.

Thanks for above reply, got through to Moris again in the end, they are hoping to be up and running for 2017 by next week. so hoping they can match the cheap quote they gave me last time.
