Nurburgring 2017
Discussion
I'll be in the McLaren 12C, but then you probably all know that already after my multiple posts..(sorry!) It's had its pre-track inspection so ready to rock n' roll. Will be my first Nurburgring trip in this car but my 10th year at the Green Hell so hoping to make it another hugely enjoyable and incident free trip. I'm staying at the Lindner Casino Hotel. Others staying there? Will be on my tod so come and say hello. I'm Ben by the way.

Hi Roy
Forgive me for asking but are you getting a little grey now ? As i think we have chatted on the car park a few times and maybe even shared a lap.
Andy
Chatted briefly a few times over the years, but never remember sitting in with you. Forgive me for asking but are you getting a little grey now ? As i think we have chatted on the car park a few times and maybe even shared a lap.

I will remember sun-kissed next time.
Hiya
slightly off subject kind of, but Im going the ring this weekend for the first time. My car is specifically mapped on V Power however on the Shell website its saying the nearest station that sells this is 31 mile from the Ring.
anyone have any advice or know anywhere more local that does 99+ octane fuel
thanks J

You don't seriously think the best (petrolly) place on the planet would be forcing Tesco cheap stuff on us do ya?
Regardless, if this is your first trip ever in your own car, I don't think super quality fuel is your biggest concern. Take it steady, DON'T bother with timing yourself (film it by all means, but don't check it till the night) or you'll chase yourself and potentially have an off...
Meet people in the car park, go out as a passenger with someone who's been (at least a few times) before, then go steady, keep right when anything catches you, and try to enjoy yourself!!!

Hi All
Anybody doing the DN events on May 2nd, travelling from up North, ? I'm going on my Tod contemplating going on the overnight ferry from Hull on the Sunday night rather than the slog down to the tunnel
There from the 29th. Will be a whole bunch of us staying at Michaela's from the Sat and taking in the sights and sounds of TF. Will prob lap the Alfa a handful of times, then DN17 in the Z4MC on the Tuesday.Anybody doing the DN events on May 2nd, travelling from up North, ? Heading down in April with a few mates. None of us have been before so we are both excited and anxious in equal measure. We'll be at the tourist evening sessions on Tuesday 18th - Thursday 19th April. Just getting the car ready with uprated pads and new tyres. Anyone else out there at the same time? Would appreciate a passenger lap from someone who knows the circuit.

This ^! Seriously, I've driven Porsche GT2, GT3RS, Audi R8 V10 etc around the Ring and unless you're piloting a modified car that absolutely depends on race grade fuel, I wouldn't worry about it. There is a petrol station about 1km from the circuit. You'll get to know it v well if the weather is good and crashes are limited! The station will look after you fine. If you're going to the Circuit Days event on 11 April and you'd like a passenger ride then I'm happy to take anyone for a passenger lap in my McLaren. Weather permitting. Jim1556 said:

^This. I'm eternally indebted to those kind souls who offered me pax laps on day 1 of the September DN16 last year, especially the highly skilled and more than a little unhinged Wh00sher (Nigel Pinder), before I braved the circuit in my own car on day 2.TBF, until/unless you deem yourself expert, there's always something to learn, as well as immense enjoyment, in taking a passenger ride with a willing and able pilot.

That is being saved, quoted, and treasured for all eternity, thank you. Either way, a lap in the Pinderwagen is a whole different level of experience.
