We hosted a Trackday om Thrusday and I witnessed this Audi TT Hit the tyre wall hard at Quarry corner, Castle Combe. After stopping next to the crash we managed to finally rip the passenger door open to get both occupants out un hurt thanks to a sturdy roll cage and supporting safety devices.

That`s looked nasty eek

Tricky one. Should you have stopped to help, putting yourself in harms way or let the Marshalls do their job ?. I get why you wanted to help, that`s hopefully the first thought of most people but I`m not so sure stopping was the right thing to do.

Were you the TDO for the day ?

Looking at the video, it was still turning left, if the steering had been unloaded, it would have been fine.

FFS why post up other people's misfortune? Guess you are getting off on it. As for the spaz screaming, dear God.

Hope as a host you are proud of your unprofessional post.

That would be a great video to show during the drivers meeting prior to every track day.

This is why Quarry has such a reputation, even now that the approaching section of track has been resurfaced and offers lots more grip than it previously did you still can't go hammering it in like that!!!

Hope the occupants of the TT are OK, I expect plenty of bits can still be salvaged from the car to build another one.

PS, love the Anchor Man overdub!!!

I'd be pretty annoyed if a 'host' had plastered a crash on youtube and then pimped it around forums.....having said that i watched it and it was a wonderful crash! biggrin

Wonder if mountbatten car sales will try to flog it as one careful owner...

I was there the following day for an opentrack track day. One of the mightyminis had exactly the same accident he was bouncing back off the wall as I came over Avon rise.

Quarry is a tricky corner, or at least Avon rise complicates Quarry.

he might have had consent from the owner, either way it's unprofessional though imo

There's a corner that gets me twitching at Oulton - just after you come round Knickerbrook I think, you're throttle down to get up the small bank (Clay Hill), then there's a very mild dogleg left just as the car is very light. You know it's there, so you don't push too hard, but I've still had one or two moments when I've thought, 'Not going to make that!'. Then it's hard on the clamps for Druids.

Know where you mean but if you aim for the oak tree before you crest the rise under the footbridge, it takes you to the right side of the track and the minor left before Druids is less significant.
