The CRX is a good buy. We use 216 Gti's and although they are tired old Rovers ( circa 1990 and the same mechanicals as the CRX ) Mallory 55secs, Brands 58, Pembrey 1.08, Donnington Nat 1.25 etc. is not too shabby for standard 1600 engines. A good CRX should be over a second a lap quicker most at places as well.
It won't be eligible for Britcar anymore but would run comfortably midfield chasing the top 10 in LMA's or a similar championship if you did want to start racing. Seems good value to me.
