How much are you looking to spend?

I'm originally from Anglesey...so I don't know the cheap places to stay. I *do* know the well regarded local hotels.

If you fancy some luxury (in a small hotel kinda way) this place is marvellous. Grub's just great.

If you're planning on doing two or three days then there's a couple of points you should consider.

1) Anglesey is FLAT. No mountains. The Scenery is across the Menai Straits on the mainland. The circuit isn't far from the bridge so you *may* wish to consider staying off the Island if mountains and scenery are your thing.

2) Anglesey is an Island. So it has pots and pots of Coastline. If you like Birdwatching/Fishing/Coastal Walks etc then stay on the Island. South Stack is worth a visit for the bird life - other than that Holyhead doesn't have much to attract the tourist.

3) Anglesey is seriously rural. "Hick" in fact. Welsh is spoken primarily but there is no-one who cannot speak English. But there are some places where tourists still get the "Slaughtered Lamb" reaction. So stay somewhere more used to holidaymakers (i.e. not the bit in the middle - go to the coast) and you'll generally get a better welcome and have a more pleasant time.

Beaumaris is probably where I'd stay. There are a couple of seriously upmarket hotels - but the smaller ones should do the job nicely for less money.
