I am trying to source one Michelin slick 24/61/17. I have one brand new and two very slightly worn and am ineed of a fourth to make up a set. a pair would do. I think they are hard compound. If any one has ideas to where i can source some, it would be much appreciated.

Thanks Paul

CoombeMarshal, why so? I've seen loads of people on slicks at trackdays... even heard the organisers discussing the use of slicks in a very positive manor at a briefing....

Yeah, I've only ever heard comments like "those running slicks will need adequate rollover protection" etc.

? I've run slicks for a yr & never had an issue- including coombe, heard 'net rumours about needing a cage, which is entirely sensible, but never had it said in practice.

IMHO old slicks not much diference grip wise over decnet road legal track rubber- just at a fraction of the cost.

Book a track rules req slicktastics to be used on full caged cars only.

Autometrix VW Audi days at Combe are allowing slicks this year, according to a post on CGTI by Neil Birkitt.

Yeah, I have seen them out there too, but don't get to upset if you get turned away!!
I am on about run what you brung type days (Japfest ect) rather than specialist track days.

I will make further enquiries!

Read here,

www.castlecombecircuit.co.uk/springactionday.htm

www.castlecombecircuit.co.uk/car_trackdays.htm

It does say it has to be road legal for the run what you brung type days, you will be watched on Specialist days!

Ive been running slicks for the past year with no problems, my car has a roll cage and like Iguana states these are a lot cheaper.
