I was there last Sunday with a large bunch of Toyotas and had a pretty good time by the end.

I wasn't impressed with the marshaling as some would "retire" to their cars parked up near the marshal points...
The standard of driving was probably the worst I have ever seen on any track. Mainly because no propper sighting laps were done at the start of the day.
They operated a "two black flag rule" where after your 2nd black flag they would send you home. Probably because of the amount of inexperienced drivers on track.
We got a black flag for spinning on the first fast right-hander after the pit straight. There was no other traffic about at all but still had to go back to the padocks and get cautioned...
We spun because of the cheapo ditchfinders we put on the car for airfield days.

At lunch I changed the wheels over to our tarmac track wheels and had an awesome afternoon

yep, I'll be there with a friend. A couple of caterhams. come and say hello. The days are fairly light hearted, but good value for money. If you get hassled by people, or get held up, just do a run through the pit lane to get some space.

I dont understand the comment about spinning because of poor tyres. Surely you only spin if you exceed your own capabilities. said by one who spins a lot, due to lack of talent, anticipation, excess speed, poor control use etc. etc. never because the tyres are poor. Just a comment, not really trying to wind you up - which it does read like!! :-)

What a good day! Didnt get to see you, but well organised, very liberal with the rules to allow everyone to enjoy themselves. Yet very vigilant with the cars, we got black flagged for leaving the indicator on, and having and arm over the edge of the car (caterham). Both completely warranted and helpfull to others on the track. During the lunch break, they arranged a high speed run down the 2mile straight. Very good of them. They even left the braking at the end of the straight quite late, so we all had a best shot at it.

Although the day was mainly sylvas all of the cars were well behaved. I only had trouble with an Atom that went like a rocket on the straights and was slow in the corners (I dont think he could see me). Everyone else was very co operative.

Great value for money.

Sorry, had some probs with the car straight off the trailer, and then completely went out of my mind, I was planning on looking out for you.

Once i had sorted me probs out, all was reasonably ok, got blackflagged for noise like every
other bec there.Good news was just told to short shift past static noise meter.Bad news was it meant the left hander at the top of the pit straight wasnt a challenge any more.

And then it rained.Lots.

Few tin tops not driving with as much respect for others as I would have liked, bur frankly have to come to expect it from older bms and "hot" hatches.Big body kits and no mirrors.

I sat behind a pair and watched one move straight across the track, virtually into the side of a overtaking car, no mirrors clearly used.

All the fun of the fair, I just time my runs out as they come in...the beauty of open pit lanes.
Twas a good day apart from the weather tho, and I do like the general atmos and layout at Big thunders days.

Maybe see you out again ? I think we're back in either Jun or July.

Cheers
