Anyone else going to this day? I've always enjoyed the Autocar days, not least because of the chance to drive the guest vehicle - Caterham this time!! I'll be in the Cooper S

They always seem a lot more then a normal evening at Bedford. Is the extra money worth it? Do you get much time in the guest car?

Food before and after & 3 months subscription (worth about £30 at shop prices) makes it better value than it may first appear. Sadly you dont get much time in the guest cars, just a flavour.

I'll be there.

Bringing along some trackday virgin mates in some interesting metal including an M6, Cayman S, 360 Spider and a 575 SuperAmerica.

Hope you're bringing your camera trackdemon!

Of course, although I intend to spend a goodly amount of time on track holding up quick stuff down the straights, and annoying them through the corners

Do come and say hello to a fellow Essex'er, I may jump in for a ride with you? Had a little time at the wheel of S3am's GT3 @ Bruntingthorpe & loved it - would be interesting to see how one goes round Bedford.

Will your mates 360 spider get through the noise limits?? Last year I saw someone with a spider fail the test by miles, not sure whether it was a standard exhaust though.

yep brake discs all sorted. I like Parr, they are very professional and really presented the car back to me beautifully.

(had a chap with matt bagley aka nervous, who gave me a few useful pointers, since his car has been "parred" up.
he is coming saturday too)

Didnt get ECU done as it required sending the chip away for a further week.

Did get the stage 1 setup and the Ram Air spoiler though.

Will see how it all feels on saturday, but probably wont notice much more power as the aircon is going to be working overtime this weekend.

Ill get the ecu done later in the year, possibly along with the brake upgrade.

Sure thing Fingers crossed for good weather.

Any other PH'ers coming along? Caterham are going to have CSR260's for us to play with. Looking forward to that!

Thats if they let you drive it - last year they would only let you passenger in one, but I think you can drive a SL300 or similar - they are good fun!

He's got a capristo on it. Haven't heard it before but I reckon it'll be touch and go.

How do they check at Bedford? Is there a sensor fixed at trackside or do they do it manually at certain times?

I'll be disappointed if they don't let me loose in a CSR260

I know where the track side sensors are - change up early when passing them and you should be OK.

Great selection of cars, fine weather and a good venue.
Apologies again to trackdemon for overtaking him in a braking zone . Nice drifting by the way! Thanks to the Caterham instructor for letting me drive his car and for a entertaining hot lap! Thanks also to the bloke (whose name escapes me) for ably demonstrating the benefits of an RS over a regular GT3. I want one!!!

Some pics below. Let me know if anyone wants high res originals.

Loving this:

If you could send high res to steve@trackdemon.co.uk that'd be great! You should have blagged a ride in the Mini - hilarious around the back section of Bedford and particularly Tower (as you captured).

YHM.

Mini looked like a bundle of fun. How did your tyres hold up?
