Can't make this one so I'm gonna have to do the GP on the 9th Oct. Anyone else doing that one?

missed this thread before the event, but I was there yesterday in my Caterham and Radical Clubsport. Thoroughly enjoyed the day. The stoppages were a bit of a pain - mainly for Rads going off - not me I hasten to add.

My first go on the GP circuit - great fun.

Which Caterham was it that you were in? I probably let you pass me. A lot.

Yep, a great day only marred by the silly number of red flags. Think they need to put a "corporate events" rev limiter on those radicals!!!

Two of us (slightly) experienced track day drivers were with two novices. I was driving a gray caterham roadsport (P676DPD) quite slowly in the morning to coach one of the novices. I was doing the same in the pm in the rad, but had a few quick sessions for fun! So didn't overtake much in the caterham, but overtook lots in the Rad! I assume you were in the lellow elise?

I loved the reg on the blue exige BLOWN K! Probably well known, but sums up what happens to the k series a lot (esp if actually afflicted by forced induction)!

Not the best trackday I have been to....

Very mixed abilities i.e. too many fast cars mixed with novices i.e. the caterham academy!

We were driving down the back (GP) straight flat chat and there was a Caterham academy car pulled nicely over to the right and as we are about to come flying past the car indicated left and pulled into the middle of the track!! My mate who was driving at the time hit the brakes hard and just managed to miss them by a whisker, but had we been going much quicker this would have been a nasty accident. Totally unecessary and the instructor should have been more aware of the situation.

There was a broad range of talent, manners and speeds on track. My biggest concern was the corner speed differential between some of the Caterham academy cars pooteling round blocking apecies and the downforce stuff; it really should have been sessioned.

That must have been your mate that I saw explaining that to the Easytrack chief instructor guy who then went and had a chat to the instructor concerned. Was there any response?

Nice video Hans

Good to see you again. Good to meet you too Ben.

But yes couldnt agree more with the above comment. Think all the problems of the day stemmed from this. My second trackday with this organiser. And my last with them!

Wasnt us, there were so many differences and dangers on the track it would have just turned into one long rant. After the 'big talk' briefing telling everyone to drive safely and overtake properly or you will be black flagged and removed, to then see what they let people get away with I couldnt even be bothered to complain and neither could my mate. If they continue running days like that its only a matter of time...

Well put.

I complained about driving standards in the afternoon and was asked if there were any specific examples. Like you say, within a few laps Id completely lost count of how many times rules had been broken never mind by who!
