My self and a large bunch of friends (and some people from the VX220 the owners club) periodically hire Donnigton for the a track evening (this is our 4th time) we then just divide the cost by the number of people going so there’s no profit being made and its ridiculously cheap £59!! for everyone.

This time we have a few places available so if anyone’s interested then let me know and will supply more details

Its all professionally run by Donnigton park (trackzone) and we operate an Open pit lane policy so you get stacks of time on the track.

We encourage a very wide variety of cars and abilities (lots of newbies) this isn’t a hard core speed maniac session just a friendly chilled one where everyone has a great time and its ideal for the more inexperienced new comer or chilled out seasoned T-dayer.

I can't see how can you afford to do it for £59. I know what it costs to hire Donington Park for an evening session and even at break even that is a *lot* of cars to be running OPL. I assume the £59 inclusive of VAT, too?

on the track at about 5 and then till youve had enough or it gets dark.

Johnny, yes its all inclusive and we run significantly less cars then most trackdays, it is amazingly good value this time, even for us. Nobody has ever complained about the number of cars or amount of time you get (theres usually a few people hiring caterhams from BAT including this time, so I think youve even been ot one before)

How many places, exactly, do you sell?

I ask because I've done Donny twice - one with their own organiser and a load of cars, once with BaT and a more sensible number.

Thanks,

Martin

We aim for 50-60

The max you could have is 90, (30 cars on track at any one time in three sessions), but we dont like that, so run it open pitlane with a reasonable number of cars. Except for right at the start there is never a queue because everybody is more chilled out and relaxed then a normal days and just does a 10 laps and then comes in to give the next guy a go, and if they want to go ut again they can... its a cooperative type of affair...we dont tolerate d1ckheads and anyone taking the mick will be spoken to.

in essence its really simple it works cos its freinds and we all work together to make it happen, its very cheap, you'll have plenty of time and its great value its not a commercial venture so all we are intrested in is maximising fun...

if you want feed back from others refer to then look on VX220 owners club forum.

Pretty reasonable. Damn sight better than the 80+ that Trakzone had open-pit when we were there...like the M25!!!

Interested in this track day of yours Keiron. We would like to run one car with two drivers, can that be arranged?

Well 98dB rules out the Manthey by a country mile - it's about 103! I haven't had the Mosler checked yet but I reckon it must be north of 100dB too. I'll find out from the factory if I can and get back to you all on this - I'd love to do it if I can. I have only ever spectated at Donington and have always wanted to drive it.

Thanks for the responses Guys, lots of interest ...and still a couple of places left :-)

I just want to re-iterate this is a chilled out freindly session (its based on a large group of mates) where the aim is fun! I expect all participants to be courteous on the track and most importantly safe! (we've never had an accident and thats the way I aim it to stay) there are lots of newbies comming , and anybody acting like a dick will be black flagged....if your an overly aggressive driver, this is not the right session for you...
