We spend ages trying to figure out what he had done to get it like that.
It was just after the Miss-Hit-Miss Curve going down towards Wehrseifen. I guess he came out of the first curve a bit too hot and ran wide out onto the grass which was still very slippy. Hit the outer reservation and either over corrected or just bounced off and ended up on the other side of the track facing the other way. He was lucky it didn't roll with how high it went up the bank.

We were just looking at that car the day before in the car park and remarking what a lovely GT3 that was. It had nice anthracite wheels.

Late Sunday, did anyone go past the 5 Series at the end of Wippermann? He had put lots of dirt on the track and it looked like he had been on the grass both sides of the track, but managed to come to a halt at the bottom of the hill before Eschbach. I bet that was a heart in the mouth moment if I ever I saw one.

He actually didn't hit any barriers, he span down the middle of the track, and rolled backwards up the grass hill.

Very lucky, so the damage is pretty cosmetic.

Yeah, couldn't see any damage on the 5 Series either. There is one guy over on the 306 forum that had a bit of an incident on what looks like the same corner. He also got the car fishtailing over the crest and managed to hold it but went both ways a number of times. If you look at a recorded lap you can see that car goes light right on the top of the corner where you need to turn. I never noticed it myself and had no problems with it but it makes you sit up and think.

Glad the GT3 is only slightly damaged. Looked like a really nice motor.
