hi all,

live close to North weald air strip in essex. driven past there at weekends and seen 1/4 mile racing and sprint racing going on and would like to have a go myself but can't find any info on the club that sprints there. Does anyone on here go or know who i need to contact?

Might head up for one of these next year, the organiser clubs are listed here.

A quick google should show the club home pages.

A did a CarLimits day there a couple of weeks back and can testify that there's really nothing to hit if you get it wrong!

cheers for that chris. How did you find out about the ''car limits'' day you did?

The sad thing is that North Weald Airfield is earmarked for development into houses as part of the Two Jags lets build millions of houses in the south east plan.

So have a go now, before the bulldozers move in.

Mind you, it's a few years away from happening, if it happens.

North weald has been saved from that tossers stupid ideas, its a fantastic place full of history.
I fly in there fairly often and watch some sprints etc whilst waiting for stuff to be done-looks fun,but its a shame they don't occasionaly use the perimeter track around the runways as thats great.

I sent in an objection to the plans via the public enquiry for the Eastern Region Development Plan, based on the future requirement for aerodromes for travelling in the UK. Will we always use the car/bus/truck? Perhaps we might see a flying DeLorean one day.

Perhaps they listened.

Amazing.

Glad to hear it's safe now.
