Track Days for beginners

Are there any trackdays that would be good for a beginner?

I think easy track organise trackdays specifically for TD virgins. Main thing is go for a track thats wider than wide, failing that one with loads of run off.

Airfields are ideal but tend to fit the less powerful cars better. (Diving for cover as he types)

Bookatrack.com do some of the cheapest airfield starter days - book two over a weekend for something like £75 each.

I would have thought airfield days suited the more powerful cars just as well as they often have quite long straights (inbetween taxiways!).... though I guess this depends upon how the organiser sets up each airfield.

I'd recommend an airfield day first. If you must do a track, try the Bedford Autodrome - it has the best 'run offs' of any UK circuit. www.Easytrack.co.uk do specific 'beginners' days at airfields in the South and North of UK

As for the power thing - it depends on the airfield. At Kemble, Wroughton or Abingdon you won't get much above 120 mph, so lighter smaller cars will be quicker (some tight turns are usually marked out by cones) But at an airfield like Bruntingthorpe - the 2 mile runway is often used - so top speed of your car is possible - (You'll TRASH your brakes mind!)
