its all gone a bit quiet from forum "experts" who wrongly said that (1) nurburgring touristenfahrten is a trackday and (2) nurburgring insurance isn't available. lol.

There are a lot of back copies of the Daily Mail to trawl through to find supporting evidence. It may take time.

I just came back from the 'Ring the weekend just gone and on the Friday evening there was a major oil leak from the 2nd karusell to the finish. Luckily I saw it soon as I noticed the track get slippy however by the time I got round to the finish I was the last off the track and it was closed because of this reason. Scary to think if I came off, would anyone of known as I was the last around?

We were one of the first to come across it and call it in. No idea who dropped it, although the marshalls were checking all the cars that came it, I guess the perp was long gone.

The marshalls would have come round and cleaned the oil up, so would have found you eventually....

I was coming back from Spa yesterday and bumped into a chap at the services on the E40 who had a yellow Westfield on a trailer with a cracked sump, which occured after riding a curb at the 'Ring last weekend. Anyway, £4000 later, they allowed him to take the car away yesterday.... Not sure if it's related, but sounds it...

Could well be. There were very few stoppages on Sunday although Saturday evening was pretty much a write-off (I think that was due to big off by a white Honda of some description though).

Yup, Saturday I think everyone was eager to get on the track as it had been such a nice day it didn't open untill 5:45.. We pushed out to be one of the first in my friends Integra and by the end of the lap it was closed for the day!

Some German organised meet I think. Must have been at least 40 parked up the slip-road to the Burgstube. Should have stopped to take a photo. There was also an E30 M3 meet, although there always is I guess!

That's the one! Although we drove past the road they were parked on, looking right to left in the picture.

In a derv I'm afraid.....although economy is the new performance! 1 year old 320d - handled really well on m-sport suspension, just needed another 100bhp......managed a best of 9.20 from the few laps we filmed. However, we did manage Folkstone - Nurburg - Cochem - Nurburg + 7 laps of the 'ring on a single tank of fuel smile

Grey 5-door with "Nurburgring 100" sticker on the back. Quite surreal in a derv in so much as there is no engine noise, no drama.
