Walton said: Garlick said: Hi Walton, I meant to come and say hello to you all day, apologies for not getting around to it. You were loaded up and off in a flash, looking at the tyres I can see why.
I was going to ask what engine you were running as not only was it loud, it sounded great! Cheers Garlick. It's a standard R500 2.0L Duratec, but running the foam -airfilter which gives it the induction roar. Exhaust is Caterhams 'quiet' trackday exahust - apparently the standard one spits flames and gets thrown off 105db days! Hi Walton, that car of urs was quick, noticed the line you took on the first corner, late on the brakes turn in a few mtrs from the cones that led to the oval and hit the second apex using all the kerb, used it from then on. Sorry about the spin in front of you, went in a little to hot, and with the cond of my tyres was bound to happen. Nice driving.

But having been round the rock a few times, it's fair to say I'm no longer intimidated by the wall! she was going well and at good pace looked great fun to drive. Thanks Sundance - she was going very well, I had a riot!!! The Mini is like a playful pup, really trying to make you like it and totally un-intimidating. Trail brake, keep your speed up, only lift for most corners, turn in and the back comes round nicely, pin the throttle and you're off, easy peasy and lots of fun! It never feels like it wants to bite you in the ass like some motors! BTW if we happen to see each other at a track day again, would you mind taking me for a spin? Your car is stunning and I can safely say it's one I'll never own (2 seats, so Mrs won't approve), however she has signed off a 911 when I can afford it, so mustn't complain! You couldnt miss her shaking her arse. I Once owned a 1969 mini cooper s 1298cc, you brought back some good memory's. Anytime JP ur welcome to have a go in the Noble, if theres dry weather im always good for a track day.

Hi J-P, Not sure why you thought my Fiesta was 'crappy', I cleaned all the bird s t off it when I got it out of the barn. I reckon 'scruffy' would have been a better description... It's not high budget car because I prefer to spend on fuel and events rather than bits and bling (or polish). Rockingham's always hard on brakes and tyres. Not sure about the brakes, but I know where the rubber goes coz I've got quite a good collection outside of my rears. Not enough to recycle though... PS What were you driving?

Hi Pigcart, Like I said no offense - and you're right scruffy would definitely be a fairer description. It was said for dramatic effect more than anything, i.e. despite it's clearly humble roots (looked like an old XR2i) and unusual paintwork (never seen that vintage Fiesta in that colour) you were overtaking a lot of people. I was in the Mini JCW. And to be fair there was some pretty tasty machinery out on track, GTRs, 911 GT3, replica Ford GT40, Nobles, Exiges, R500 etc. Anway, hope to see you again in the future Cheers J-P
