Like the orange Clio. (there's something about orange cars hehe ) If I ever went for FWD it would be a 16V Clio or Pug 205.

As I'm an 'open-topper' (so it just doesn't arise) genuine question > Is that allowed?

Personally, notwithstanding what any TDO might or might not allow, I wouldn't recommend it: I have seen the odd 'monumental lash-up' (and read of many more) on 'sighting/familiarisation' laps and I doubt head-butting the A/B pillar/the roll cage hurts any less than on a 'proper' lap?

At bedford we thought we were just going to the "pits" from the car park in a "train" so we didn;t get lost. Assuming we'd then line up for sighting laps after emptying the boot/putting on helmets etc. So didn't put helmets on. As it turns out they just headed right out onto the circuit to do the sighting laps. Communication failure.

Understood, fair enough, must admit it's all a bit weird @ Bedford compared to a 'proper' competition racetrack with a 'proper' pits, lane and noise testing location.

My and my mate were the only people who didn't have helmets on for the sighting lap. Initially the marshall said you need one, but as we were going to get them (left them in the van with tyres etc), one of the other marshalls said it wasn't required.

He was probably the bloke in the MSV decaled car that overtook me and the trailer around the outside of a bend at plus 30mph when I was complying with Mr Palmer's speed limits on the way out road wink

Agreed. Who took this for you? I would like to get one of these next time I go to the Nordschleife.
