Only been there once on the full GP circuit in a 996 GT3. Fastest lap was a 1.47..not sure how that compares...

During the track / test day trying the SR1 Radical, 52 second laps.
I know Radicals can go a lot quicker, but the SR1 is the baby of the range and we had to run the regulation treaded tyres - slicks would take whole seconds off.

Kai
Kai that is quite a good time in that trim, even raising the ride height on a radical can add seconds to a lap time in one of them. The aero doesn't work with the car raised up even a few inches

Someone told me the GP track is around 60 seconds longer than the Indy for most cars, so if you did a 1.47 then that seems mighty fast

Went out on the Monday evening session, hard work considering 50% of the other cars were being driven by morons.

IF A CAR IS FAST APPROACHING YOU FROM BEHIND,PULL OVER!!!!!!!!

I'm surprised that drivers were not pulled in for the shocking standard of driving witnessed.

Anyway I managed to get out when I noticed some of these cars in the pits for a few consistent laps.

Flying lap 1, 1.01.81
Lap 2, 1.00.80
Lap 3, 1.01.75
Lap 4, 1.00.99

Still can't get under the 60 seconds but didn't really mange to get into the zone with all the distractions.

Car was a standard RX8 PZ on standard road tyres and brakes!!!!

Roll on next summers evenings
It was interesting that this thread, before I posted in it, was just below the idiots on trackday thread.
Trackday Heroes vs. Driving Morons.
I think you will find it is overtaking by consent, not bow down, I am a driving god.

Was at Brands on Wednesday and very happy with a 54 sec lap. Quite a bit off my best but good considering it was running pilot sport 3's... and that the gearbox was still in one piece!

Not bad for a 25 year old Datsun smile

Would go quicker with a proper driver..

I think what he is saying is that he is not a driving God, or a Trackday hero, but that some people just drive around aimlessly ignoring the bright blue flags or lights being directed at them, and what is looming large in their rear view mirrors. I can assure you too that he is far from a idiot behind the wheel.

Pretty respectable time there Andy. Mine was about the same, but my car was a fair bit lighter and had a chunk more power. Mind you, it had to drag me around too! smile

I'm new to this forum and UK track days although i've completed 50 laps at the Nordschleife with a variety of cars.

I currently have a 220bhp track ready EP3 Civic Type R and I've completed 2 track days at Brands Indy last year and managed a 56.60.

I was happy with this although I've changed my geo since then for a more track (dry) orientated setup, so hopefully I can go a few 10ths quicker now.

56.7 in the cold with the track still damp in place in my E92 M3 on Intrax suspension, Stoptech brakes and Cup2s.

I reckon I had another half second if it was a bit drier.

I'm looking forward to getting back there since the car lost a bit of weight and gained around 40bhp!

Nickjd, i was only repeating what was told in the briefing before the trackday....... so before making comments like that read what was said in my original post. Its all very well giving it large, but if people repeated the rules of trackdays there would be fewer incidents and more time out enjoying the track.

I WILL SPELL IT OUT FOR YOU AGAIN AS SAID BY THE ORGANISERS>>>> IF YOU SEE A BLUE FLASHING LIGHT CHECK YOUR MIRROR AND PULL OVER TO THE RIGHT OOUT OF THE WAY OF THE FASTER APPROACHING CAR AS SOON AS IT IS SAFE TO DO SO. YOU SHOULD ALSO REDUCE YOUR SPEED TO ASSIST THE OTHER DRIVER TO PASS WITH EASE.

As Furyblade Lee said i dont think i am a driving god but i like to get the most out of days like that, unfortunately its others that think they are driving gods that ultimately end up slowing every other driver down.
I have 2 videos of cars being total dicks, one was a smart roadster that just would not pull out of the way despite over half a lap of blue lights telling him to do so, and a guy i a 5 series BMW who belted down the straights overtaking everyone and then pussied out in the bends slowing everyone up. To me its a total waste of anyones track time as you can't get a decent lap in.

Like it!

Everyone needs to put what tyres they ran to get the time.. My diesel audi would probably lap under a min... If on slicks lol!
