Not at all shabby! MPH terms it's barely 2-3 mph slower than my M3 at the braking points. That's a quick car.

Thank you! I was really impressed with how good it was and how much I enjoyed driving it. I'd take the mph data with a big pinch of salt though, the speed an corner g always lags a lot but the times seem accurate.

What sort of times does your M3 do?

My first ever dry laps of Brands Indy (in a car) on yesterday's evening session produced a 54.39.

Member 'mpit' then took it out and got a 53.5, the git. Car has a 52 in it for sure.

E92 M3 with Intrax, front BBK and used slicks.
I have a video from the datalogger now too. Data says the best rolling lap completed was a 53.0 and the best sectors added up to a low 52. A good driver would get a high 51 I think, maybe not on an evening session therefore without the exhaust baffles in which strangle it a bit.

That's a fantastic effort. Any idea what it'd do without slicks? Look forward to watching the vid and hear the noise - best sounding m there is!! smile

Eta lol very modest a good driver gets the times you do!

The YouTube link is in my reply above yours, at the bottom.

I don't think I was getting the best from the slicks they're old now and it seems I overinflated them as they were 30psi once back in the pits, they should be 26psi. Car wouldn't be much slower on good tyres, mpit did 55 on cup2 tyres in his M3.

I wan to to go back with a fresher set of correctly inflated tyres and try again now that I'm a little more familiar.

I have only done Brands once but I did a 0.59 dead and lapped fairly consistently under 1.01secs in a Clio 172 (non cup) with T1Rs, stripped with buckets and DS2500 pads. Great fun and I pick up an integra DC2 on Saturday so i'll be back in sprint pushing for 57s / 58s. It's completely stock but a minter, low miles and will be putting a set of T1Rs on her.

I must say, the Clio took some serious scalps that day including a lot of much more expensive metal. I am a confident driver but certainly nothing special, just a very easy car to push and feel out the limits.

Nothing particularly impressive as it was not only my first time at Brands Hatch but also my first track day, but I got a 1:01.2 in my Fiesta ST. Modifications included Mountune MP215, Cat-Back Exhaust and Yellowstuff pads.

My best is around 56-57 seconds. I certainly don't push the car to it's limit yet though.

Did a 54.2 in a stock M4 a couple of weeks ago, was disappointed not to get 53’s as I’m pretty confident it’d do it on a clear track. Now have updated pads and R888’s, can’t wait to get back there!!! smile

Interesting reading the times from 10 years ago at the start of this thread. Looks like the low 50s time remain very fast, but compared to todays cars there would be a cluster of times between 1 minute and say 56 seconds?

54.1 in a 161bhp Elise in a 10 minute session, with no setup work and having never driven the car before.

Then I went and bought my own. I'd hope for 53s with a bit of seat time and setup work.
