I applied for this job because I wanted to know a little more about it.

so far I have completed 2 aptitude tests and 2 applications, nothing too serious but what's it all about, anybody know any thing about these type of jobs??

Earnings potential 100k++ first year. Reply with a brief career synopsis and telephone number for a phone interview. Flights, accommodation, salary with high commissions

These jobs are often for selling unregulated financial "products" to private individuals by cold-calling. You will probably find that it will be non-existent/illiquid/over-priced shares, highly geared currency trading, wine/whisky/champagne futures to name but a few.

There used to be several of these types of companies operating in the UK and Europe however with increased regulation over the years, they have moved further afield. The reason being that it is illegal to sell such products here or in Europe, and in the manner that they do.

If they are reluctant to tell you more about the role and the products, and focus entirely on the earning potential then I would be extremely cautious.

Sounds dubious.

How many regular telesales jobs earn £80k+ ?

I'm not saying it doesn't, but it's probably a theoretical number based on a "boiler room" share model. Google "boiler room share scam"
or
http://www.guardian.co.uk/money/2009/apr/24/scams-...

By basing themselves out of the UK, they avoid TPS / telco protection and the ability to trace/block calls easily. By hiring Brits/Ozzies/etc they gain a credible accent and authenticity.

Oh, and 100k "opportunity to earn up to" will be a really low base salary. They may pay for your flights, and then deduct that from your wage at an inflated amount. Maybe set you up with accommodation at an inflated rate.

Oh, and the OTE will be on an accelerator scheme with some horrible metric?

Common work in Asia, I get calls every week from one or another of these guys, but most expats only talk to people who work for the big western groups, I am polite but refuse to enter conversations, not an easy way to make money. But I do know several people who started this way and went on to work for western companies and did well.

Ah I would if they give them to me!

This is how it went, A guy called Mike called me yesterday from 'recruitment' to go through a few things such as, I will use a fake name etc! also how do I feel about selling products and services that don't exist!!

A south African fella called me this morning who was in 'management' he seems keen but i fobbed him off, i said he should call me tomorrow.

I cant believe it was so easy to potentially fall in to such a job!!
