Looking for some personal recommendations for a company/charity offering summer voluntary work for a 16 year old.

Little Miss H67 has 3 months on her hands before starting college and I don`t want her to spend it on Farcebook and ttter. Work involving children would be ideal.

Trawling the net is fine but I`d much prefer a heads up from a trustworthy PHer.

No pics are available and any offers of jobs as a fluffer or bedwarmer will be laughed at and dismissed out of hand.

Thanks chaps.

I would start with looking at this http://www.volunteering.org.uk/IWantToVolunteer

And suggest she find something that is related to her career interests so that she is building her experience and references etc.

Volunteers do need to be supervised and mentored and often require CRB checks, given her age she may find it quite a challenge to find exactly what she wants as she is classed as a child until 18, the organisation might not be covered for liability for under 18s, but find your local bureau and go in to chat to them about the opportunities in your area. Good idea to start looking for something now.

Good luck

As said, age could be a challenge. Could try Army cadets for some worthwhile development.. http://www.armycadets.com/home/
