Filed a tax return 3 months ago online, all approved within 7 days, then requested an electronic payment for the excess tax. Nothing happened after two weeks so emailed their 'customer service' was told four weeks starting from the time I emailed. That expired 25th May so called them on the 2nd June, was told it would be in my account in 5 days.
Checked today and no joy, so rang again today. This time the story is back to 'four weeks, sir'... So that's mid July then.
Note also they've agreed there's no discrepancy, just waiting on the 'Process Deparment'.
Ironically, I owed tax last year and got fined £100 for being two weeks late!

Any ideas how to get through to these clowns???

Its just that you are dealing with clowns I believe. We have still not received our PAYE booklet to pay the monthly cheques over - apparently due to a printing problem - but we think they are trying to force us into electronic payment.

On the other side though we submitted a backdated R&D tax credit claim three weeks ago. It was approved within 7 days, the money hit our account within 14 days of the original submission - it did take 21 days for the post to arrive telling us we were getting a refund.
The amount was enough to pay my salary for the next year. Maybe I got your money ?
