I'm currently doing about 24 hours a week max since I'm in a temp job just out of uni but I have a final interview next week so that could change biggrin

Right now 40 hour weeks are the norm, however moving into Investment banking IT again so 60 - 70 could be the norm at times frown

Contracted 37 in main job, end up doing 45 in an average week.

Contracted 8 in second job, end up doing 8.

Three sets of volunteer work amount to an average of 5 hours a week.

So, 58 for me.

when self emplyed i regularly did 90+hours per week- started at 8 and finished at 11-12 with 6 days per week and a few hours on sunday. did this for 3 years but had to pull back then- was a bit intense.

money was worthwhile though.

8ish - 7ish in the office at client site, 3 hours/day travel. Then around 10 - 30 hours more for my employers.

Between 40-50 hours per week plus another 15-20 hours per week studying...

...Suppose you could deduct about 25 hours 'work' that is actually spent perusing PH, though... hehe

Basic hours are 7:30am 'till 5pm and finish at 4 on a friday. 1/2 hour for breakfast and an our for dinner, both unpaid.

This time of year basic hours go out of the window. I'd normally expect to work up to 95 hours/week during the summer. For the 4 months up to the end of october it not unusual not not have a weekend to my self and have a 2 month stint of working every day. This year the weather means I've not done so many hours as normal. I normally do 600 hours OT/year. Not started last years hoilday yet or finished the year before's.

Usually just over 40hrs a week for me with around 9-10 hours spent commuting over the course of the week. During busy season it can be more than this, but that is quite dependent on the jobs you are booked on and various competing deadlines.

However in the time leading up to exams, the amount of time spent studying on top of work is pretty significant. Perhaps 2 hours per night and another 10 hours over the weekend in addition to the day at work.

I don't mind working hard or putting in time above my contracted hours, my employer is pretty fair and will give time off in lieu during quieter periods of the year for over time or extra time spent travelling to client sites.

I do make a point of utilising my holiday allowance fully every year though. I work to live and value my time off.

Media sales stuff.

Every industry has its perks, mine are paid for lunches once or twice a week and easy hours, the caveat to that is I shall not be retiring at 40 like some of the people I went to school with who have managed to get their foot in the door at city firms and banks etc.

Current job: 37.5 hours per week, governed by a ban on overtime

Previous job: 50-70 hours a week, depending if I worked weekends. PLUS an hours commute each way. So at worst case, was 7x12hour days, in winter.... Outside. frown

One before that: 60hours a week.

Somewhere between 38 and 42 hours, with 0 to 25 hours driving on top. No such thing as a normal week.

Head of Marketing 60-70hours, plus 1hour commute.
Keep getting told that we are a "long hours company" which is starting to wear thin.
Previous roles usually in the 45-55ave hours bracket

I have to be honest much over the 60hours mark see mistakes rise and tasks take longer.

I am looking for a move to resolve this
