Calling Vodafone employees in Newbury
Discussion
I have recently been made redundant from my employer of the past fifteen years Nokia.
I would really like to work at Vodafone in Newbury as it is in the same technical field as well as being somewhat more local than Nokia was.
I have been applying via the on line system to no real avail.
Can any existing employees there offer me any advice on how to get a job there? I have a great technical skill set and am willing compromise salary to get my foot in the door.
Any help appreciated...

Hi Ray,
Fellow ex Nokian here!
Are you on LinkedIn? I would suggest searching for HR people at Vodafone from within LinkedIn and then attempt to network with them.
When I was made redundant by Nokia in March there was some assistance for employees including HR contacts at relevant companies that were recruiting. Maybe worth speaking to HR to see if they can help?
Good luck

Nicki Hague - Resourcing Relationship Manager at Vodafone
Nick Procter - Recruitment Manager at Vodafone
Melanie Stibbs - Recruitment Manager at Vodafone
They're all based in Reading... Give them a call, much better than just recieving a CV through an online portal... likely to go through a low level resourcer, "Control F" looking for keywords... the more keywords in your CV the better!
I'm not sure exactly what you do but I'd also maybe try to find out what Recruitment Agency specialises in what you do and out of the specialists who supply to Vodafone.
If you're drawing a blank... sometimes calling / using linkedin to network with peers within the company you want to work for to get tips / reccomendations works very well.
