Phoned in sick today
Discussion
As just said people don't get flu more than twice a year, or the sts from bad food that keeps you off work more than twice a year.
If you're in a job you like/has responsibility/no one else can cover/clients waiting on you you don't call sick. People call sick when any of these don't apply.
Most people who call sick are fking liars and/or hypochondriacs. And this may be politically incorrect but women are by far the worst.

The point is that people are not actually sick that often, and in places where people are taking ten days a year on average (and who don't have genuine long-term illness), then most of them are lying.
People do not get flu five times a year.
Since when did a company treat anyone well enough for the employees not to be liars...?People do not get flu five times a year.
I've worked at a lot of companies and I honestly can't think of one that rewarded the martyrs well enough to come in every day for 5 years. As a contractor, pay rise day was always quite funny (in a masochistic way that I find uncomfortable) - in the morning everyone was happy, by the afternoon it was Suicide City. Companies very very rarely deserve any form of loyalty.

I imagine most people that don't throw sickies don't do it for the benefit of their employers, but due to some moral code/self respect derived from being honest/feelings for their co-workers who have to cover their duties.I've worked at a lot of companies and I honestly can't think of one that rewarded the martyrs well enough to come in every day for 5 years. I hate being off sick for that reason. I feel bad dumping extra work on my colleagues.NobleGuy said:

Maybe you are getting cause and effect the wrong way round. Maybe the reason that you've worked at a lot of companies, and never been well rewarded is because of your lack of loyalty, and your feeling that taking sickies is ok.I've worked at a lot of companies and I honestly can't think of one that rewarded the martyrs well enough to come in every day for 5 years. It may not be coincidence that I don't know anyone who does this, and work with people who enjoy their jobs and are well paid.
