Do any of PH masses have them? anyone think they are actually valuable or just a waste of precious work time.
We have been having them for about a year and now they are moving up a level with team Qs being asked like (Do you have the right materials for the job? If not, What do you need.)
The idea of these sessions are to build stronger teams etc, but as my "team" is made up of onsite contractors that consist of postal, kitchen, cleaners, security, maintenance etc so as a whole we are not exactly a team but as we are run?(right word)by the facilities management we are in a team.
Personally i find them just non productive waste of time.
I get paid to do a job and i do this to the best of my ability without anyone else saying how it could be better or such crap.
I'm sure most take pride in their work and give the 100%.
I'll stop now as i am turning it into a rant rather than the reason i started and that is opinions on topic.

We have them at our place. They're not too bad as we have ours first thing monday morning come hell of high water. I come in get a cup of tea write up my to do list for the week and trundle along. They work due to the time and alot of the work we do in our department happens to directly impact others in the team so a few minutes in the morning can help us to plan what we need for the week and maybe eliminate or add something to the list.

Other companies I've found them to be a waste of time because like you said if you're not a team in the traditional sense then you're just sat there listening to stuff which has little to no impact on your role.

I tend to find time is important also. Having them midweek, midmorning, midafternoon is a ballache as sods law you will be in the middle of something you don't want to be distracted from.
