How many people do your job?

It's makes a heavy duty water proof zipper. As used in (very) deep sea diver suits among other things. What sets it apart from any other is the size of metalic elements, and the fact that they are all riveted.
Interesting stuff, can you give a brief on how the zipper differs from that on a normal drysuit? I've seen quite a lot of commercial diving kit but am very interested in how the kit differs from my setup, some of the commercial is very like my recreational but a lot simpler in some aspects. As for my job, probably in the millions.
I make wedding bouquets from vintage buttons and jewellery - a few people pop up now and again and make the odd one as a hobby, but I believe I am the only maker who has a physical shop and works full time making a living from it There are a couple more in the USA and 2 in Australia but I would say less than 10 I know of.
Hmm, depends how specific you want to be.
I'm sure there's millions of proposal writers.
Programe planner - Estimator - Proposal writing engineers maybe a few less.
In my industry, well you've knocked a few more off.
In my specific company - 3
Of which are called Crofty - 1
If anyone needs an automotive proposal writing planner/estimator called Crofty and is wiling to pay loads (seing as there's only 1 in the whole country!) - Giz a job!

Similarly, hundreds of thousands of "Head of Commercial" job roles across the world.I'm sure there's millions of proposal writers.

In my industry (defence) I would guess somewhere between 1000-10000. QinetiQ has 12 "Head of Commercial" roles and that's a £1.7bn turnover company.
In my specific niche of the industry there are about 8 companies globally.
In my company there are two of us.

Mainly being heavy duty, so being more water resistant than lightweight or medium weight zippers. And it's the rivet that makes it possible to have a larger (or less elements per inch) and higher compression (sealing pressure between zipper tape). It's much more difficult to open and close than standard drysuit zippers though, but you know that when it's closed, what's normally the weekest part of suit is very safe and reliable. As for my job, probably in the millions.
There are at least a couple of thousand professional translators in this country. (This doesn't include people who think they can translate just because they "know" a language. )
Of those, there are maybe 30 or so that do the languages I do.
Everything is deadline-driven in the translation industry, which causes some interesting problems! I work fast, yet I'm constantly overbooked and my clients are always phoning to beg me to fit in just one more tiny joblet. Or to ask me to recommend any other translators I know because they have to place a job and they can't find anyone who's free.
But it's a good job, and it's better than translating some of the more common languages where there's similar demand but many more people offering the service.
