Who enjoys their job, and what do you do?

Me - I don't. In fact, I pretty much resent having to do it wink. I am working towards changing this, but financial stupidity on my part is making it take longer than it should.

My job pays well, but the long hours and some of the people I have to endure really do put a damper on enjoying it.

I've not worked for 10 years due to my inability to work and as a result I'm on incapacity benefit.

I gets me down a bit but I play lots of golf and rugby so I keep busy.

You forgot to mention what you do?

I crash test child seats in cars (some rather nice cars aswel) & also aircraft seats (not in cars obviously) & have worked for the same company for 18 years. I enjoy the work but the pay is crap.

I enjoy mine but it's mainly due to getting to work from home.

For the most part, I do. I'm a draughtsman (ok, technically a CAD monkey, but I got trained up on the boards and taught how to produce quality drawings by hand, a skill that's been sadly lost).

Have worked in various sectors, but have been in Civil Engineering for the last 10 years or so. I'm earning pretty good money and the work is mostly interesting. The only downside is the lack of jobs closer to home (when I got laid off 18 months ago, all the positions around Manchester were about half the salary I'd been on. I've been working 130 miles away for the last 4/5 years.

Work in sales - detest turning up each day but the money ain't bad.

I meet with lots of clients each day who run their own businesses and to be honest most our as thick as pig st so it can't be that hard to do.

I got what I thought would be my dream job straight out of uni, working for a car company in marketing and sales.

The benefits are good for someone my age, and I enjoy it sometimes but still wish I was running my own business. Just have no idea doing what.

Hate it, but the pay is good considering what I do and I get lots of days off (only work 140ish days per year), so I'm still doing it.

Have to admit, GTIR's occupation sounds much more appealing, well apart from the Golf and Rugby bit.

It's ok unless I get caught by one of the IT nerds and have to speak to them.

I am the Construction Site Manager on a new coal fired power plant in Indonesia, been here 7 months now and love it, love the daily challenges and the problems thrown at me. Ive been in Asia now for 10 years and love it, love the work, love the place and all that comes with it. I visit the UK three or four times a year just to get a reality check and realise that I am working in the right part of the globe, no way would I ever go back to the UK to work again. Have worked in Vietnam, Thailand, Vietnam again then here in Indonesia...
