Hey I was contacted a few days ago by The deVere Group - https://www.devere-group.com/They are saying they were sent my CV by the Reed website and were interested in me because of my sales background. They have positions available working overseas as a financial consultant. Having looked at the website there are quite a few countries to choose from. They want me to go along to a Information Meeting at London Heathrow in a couple of weeks. This is to run through what the job roll is and potential earnings etc. Now is it just me or would anyone else think this is all sounding a bit "too good to be true" so far??? Has anyone else here ever been contacted by them and what was your experience? I am tempted just to go along to this meeting at Heathrow, more out of curiosity than anything else. Cheers Sammo

Interesting, they are spamming me at the moment. No idea where they got my email address from. They must be on some kind of marketing drive.

they'll send you somewhere like dubai where you'll spend all your time 'networking' - i.e. trying to get as many names for people who you can cold call to set up a meeting to try and get them to sign up for one of your amazing long term savings schemes. everyone will despise you unless you are a 20-something female wit ha great rack. those ones seem to do ok at it.

the job is likely to be cold calling high pressure sales of unregulated offshore financial products, which generate massive commissions for the company and have shocking T&Cs/costs for the client. The basic is likely to be unliveable on.
A popular product is the generali vision savings scheme.
NB no axe to grind other than they cold call me monthly, so I did a bit of research.

Just wondering if anyone has ever invested with Henley and what their experience was? Would they recommend it? especially an account like the Generali long term offshore savings accounts. Many thanks in advance

Many thanks in advance a friend works there in singapore, I think its commision only no fixed salary, brutal way to work. I suspect all of their products you can get direct from the provider, I loop IFA's in with all the other shark professions, estate agents, club promoters, 2nd hand car salesmen, etc

I loop IFA's in with all the other shark professions, estate agents, club promoters, 2nd hand car salesmen, etc agreed on both points! there is no benefit of arranging these products directly other than if you go through the IFA you have the 'benefit' of their stockpicking abilities or lack thereof. one of their [de vere] selling point in the uae is that they claim to be the only fully regulated ifa outfit here. my mate is one of the head guys responsible for authorising this on behalf of the treasury and they have no such approval.

But does anyone know anyone who has invested with them and what the positives/negatives of doing so are? Any other alternatives around?

Personally I wouldn't go within a 100 miles of it.
