First Scotrail will be advertising soon. At present they are advertising internally.
Any further update re this? If/ when it's going to happen?

Cheers

What jobs/careers did you have before you became a Trainnee driver or do you have whilst you apply? Just out of interest,
I'll be starting with Freightliner this Spring pending a medical in a couple of weeks.

I'm 25 with a BA in Economics and an MSc in Strategic Management, and currently working for a small Sharescheme Management company. So I wouldn't worry too much about relevant experience wink

Hi Mike,

Tried to pm you but it seems that you have disable that function. Please could you kindly pm me? I've got some urgent questions but not suitable on public forum. Thank you.

YGM. Not sure how the PM system works so let me know if you didn't get anything.

Saw the first scotrail advert yesterday,

read up lots last night to see if I'd be suited for it and I'm really interested
so put in my application today, done the 2 online assessment bits.

so hopefully get to telephone interview and then further testing.

ONLY thing I'm nervous about is the "verify" test, where you have to match left to right, I am dyslexic and I felt it was hindering me slightly and it made me maybe half a second slower so I know I probably haven't scored well on that test, but I have made them aware of my disability.

Woo! Got an email saying i'd passed both online tests and that they will be in touch for the next stage,
which i think is the phone interview.

Was a great email to get as i was feeling like i'd really messed it up!

anyone able to give me some advice on the next steps?
specific things to look into?

Quite interested in this. Not really given it a thought before.

Currently in the North West but would like to move down South - anyone know of anything I can apply?

I take it sight is only an issue if you're colour blind. Only ask as I'm slightly short sighted.

It was a great day. Lots of signing of stuff, lots of uniform which is cool and general massive optimism and excitement all round. I will say the the folder I.e the rules and the western route appendix thingy scare me. They are enormous lol.

Good luck either way. Sure you'll love it!

One month in and loving it. Couple of assessments done and flew through them. Doing my front end turns next week. Can't wait. :-)

Good luck. Enjoy it, you deserve it.
