Not for a graduate position.
Not me straight interview for my role, they seem to try and convince you about the high standards and only wanting the best but when you get the job the work is unchallenging and undermining for the qualifications you have. Oh and their dignity at work/equal opportunities is bull crap because if you go there contracting you are the lowest of the low and your in no uncertain terms treated like it.Not for a graduate position.

But if you are working there as a contractor you are the lowest of the low, otherwise you would be working for some other org at +25% the rate.Dan_1981 said:

Yes, I found the tests/interview part fine, but after working mainly for smaller companies it felt like they were just ticking boxes, rather than getting to know you. I messed up the interview part, but at the same time I didn't really click with the guy I was presenting to, who would have been my manager. In the end I wasn't that surprised when I didn't get the job - not that I would have accepted it.Not for a graduate position.

Hi
Can anyone please be a little more specific about how JLR contractors are treated, I always have to take general comments with a pinch of salt, people see things differently. Often depends on your own mindset...(not saying it is)
PM is fine.
Not going to comment on manner of treatment as its 8 years since I was a contractor at JLR (although my sister still works there as a contractor in the same department where my father is a senior manager. I think that says enough in its own right). Can anyone please be a little more specific about how JLR contractors are treated, I always have to take general comments with a pinch of salt, people see things differently. On money. I was phoned about a contract at JLR yesterday. It was a very similar contract to one I have just accepted, automotive seating (I start next Monday whoo), after the recruitment blurb I told them how much I had just accepted and the response was that they couldn’t get within £10 of that rate in JLR.
Fundamentally, a contract at JLR is a contract. If it’s all you can get then take it, but build on it and get a better one ASAP. Most non JLR contracts pay better and are not exactly in short supply. For example, I don’t have a degree, what I do isn’t exactly unique or very specialised yet I’m in a well-paid contract that took ages to find someone like me and would rather I stayed put. I have accepted another long term contract (less commuting, more money hopefully less dumb manager) had another simultaneous offer (from McLaren, couldn’t face the M25 near Heathrow) and had interest from yet another party who have made me two offers in the past, sadly I didn’t want to take another day off to do an interview. If I’m getting good offers then more or less anyone can.
I know Rolls are recruiting, I know BMW are recruiting, I know McLaren are recruiting they are all paying much more than JLR this is without even going into the teir 1’s.
