Looking to change

I've done my current job for over 30 years ( HGV technician ) Inside the last 12 months i've incurred 2 very avoidable workplace accidents. While i will make a recovery, the usual age implications mean that the job will inevitably become more difficult. Coupled with the fact that my projected retirement age is 67 ( currently 53 ) and i'll never be wealthy. For general peace of mind and wellbeing i want to change this.
Has anyone else faced this and how did you deal with it ? My thinking is that i have a wealth of experience to offer and my field is one that is'nt really going to change very much, still very much hands on. This is leading me down the training route, but i've no idea where to start or where to look. Sincere question and i would appreciate honest replies. Thanks, Paul
