In answer to the headline question "Is her career finished?", absolutely not. Moving from the NHS to the private sector is a shock for many. I have two family members who made the transition. Even moving to reputable employers was not easy for them as "profit" eventually comes to the fore and it challenged their values. As someone who had hired a lot of employees I see value in suffering career knocks and setbacks. It helps shape people and make them worldly wise. In spite of the unpleasant circumstances I would encourage her to view it as a positive learning experience. Any decent hiring manager would see it the same way even if she has to be tight lipped about the full facts of the case.

Join a Union and get all the employees to do the same ! Its about time there was balance. I am a Union member and a Manager.

I was a Union member as a young engineer never needed them, then moved in to management and didn't think (for a while) that a union would ever be needed, then senior management changed and so did their ideas all I can say is that as a vicim of bullying and harassment the Union are worth every penny of my membership money.

Unions are important, too many employers try things that are borderline legit, or make mistakes in processes that are designed to protect both the employer and employee.

Looks like someone has blown the whistle on a similar organisation. They're all as bad as each other it seems.

as an RGN work will always be available - agency and locum rates will certainly keep the wolf from the door. might be worth considering in the interim prior to taking longer term career decisions.
