Sorry Bobtee, the country voted to put most industries in the private sector.The private sector have share holder dividends, CEO bonuses to be thinking of now.
Private sector business have no concern whether it is right for the country or an individual to have a service or a product, only if they can make as much profit as possible.
Cameron has already stated he wants the state to shrink and for the private sector to provide goods and services. Wait until that filters down to the NHS. look at the USA to see what the private sector has done for health care. 50 million people have no health care there, two thirds of US citizens have no health care or are under insured, where an operation costs 4 times what is in the UK and medication costs as much as the market will bear.
If broadband provision was in the public sector, then you could have fast broadband in the "back of beyond". And no, public sector isn't inefficient. If you pay managers peanuts you get monkeys. Look what the papers were saying about RBS, "you can't pay them THAT MUCH!!" RBS is owned by the country. As soon as you pay public sector workers private sector money there's an outcry.
Pay people in the public sector private sector pay, and you'll attract the best employees, and there won't be profiteering or dividends to pay, cheaper all round!!
