seeing what employer stores about employee?
Discussion
I've been told you're allowed to ask your employer to see all of the info they keep on you, including emails discussing said employee.

What is the best way to approach this? Do you need a magic phrase or something?

A simple email to your HR department asking to view your personnel file is all it takes; they then have 40 days to give you access to the file.
Not quite. Because they can charge a fee for the Subject Access Request and if they want to be difficult, no request is made until payment is. This is why I said to enclose a cheque. They don't have to charge a fee but they might do so.Gassing Station | Jobs & Employment Matters | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
