I think they're checking for slightly different things when you go through SC or DV process. It's mainly about vulnerability to blackmail!Kermit power said:

I think they're checking for slightly different things when you go through SC or DV process. It's mainly about vulnerability to blackmail!Er if you have to undergo DV for a Uk project your academic credentials will be checked. In fact every aspect of your on file cv and life will be checked including face to faces with your significant family members. If discrepancies are found then that will be investigated. If you fail DV because of this and your access is denied then your employers will be notified and why.
You can of course go higher than DV. If you fail that due to deliberate misinformation and lies on your cv you will be actively fked over by the powers that be with regards to working in the uk, us and European defence industry.
The one European mob who do things slightly differently are the Swiss. They go nuclear on your background checks from your first application ESP if you are a foreign national. That's address and employers for last 15yrs and full disclosure of your worldwide assets. Normally the wealth tax thing is civvy tax affairs but for mil work they don't care. They want you tell or sling your hook. And they do check religiously as I can attest when a very confused Herr rang me up to ask "what is Aberystwyth ?"

A good CV should contain not a single lie, yet you shouldn't be able to recognise yourself from it.
What a pile of rubbish. Didn't make any of that kind of stuff up and still got a job no problem! If anything perhaps giving examples of the stuff I mentioned in the CV helped, as it showed I wasn't making it up. I'm certainly not someone to hold a lack of qualifications against someone (in fact I regard it stupid a lot of the time when someone has a lot of experience but misses out due to no degree), but the lying issue would be the big question here. You have limited information about the person, so every little piece then gets used, and it wouldn't look good.Sourced new computer hardware for the accounts dept - went out and bought a new calculator for Brenda.

OP I had to resit my GCSE English Language when I was 22. I applied for a job but despite having all my qualifications and getting a first in my dissertation they didn't care as I had a D in English Language. I went to my old school and explained it to them and it only cost £50 for the exam entry fee. I was told I'd never get more than a B because I struggle to spell. Anyway, I did the exam and all the coursework within a few weeks of asking the school, I got an A and the worse part was loads of younger siblings of my friends spotted me in the exam hall, so I felt a bit foolish but I got the grade. I never got the job tho, by the time I got my result they had stopped recruitment and I went on to other things. Don't regret it for a sec.
Withdraw, do the exams then never need to lie again on a Cv.
