What benefit is there to you of telling all your colleagues?
Probably so they could scrabble together a counter offer to stop you forkin' off wink

Another case of crap management! What is she gonna tell them in four weeks, that you are on a permanent holiday? If she had concerns about the effect on the remaining staff then perhaps she should have made an announcement or at worst sent an email before disappearing for a holiday.
I suspect that she would want to tell the other employees once she/the management have formulated a plan. ie "Steve will be leaving us in a few weeks but we will be replacing him/promoting someone/restructuring the role"

To tell the staff without a considered plan just leaves everyone feeling unsure and uncomfortable. I've only resigned twice, but both times have left it to the management to "announce" my departure (although I have had a quiet word with close colleagues beforehand)

I have about 7 working days left of my notice period. Don't worry too much, you tend to care less as your last day approaches. I'm about a day away from giving a negative amount of fks about anything, although its been at 0 for a very long time.
