I got a call back from the audit team!

i spoke to him at length about my concerns and various things he's done.
from talking to him there are certain things that they can definitely do him for - some will need further investgation etc.

the area manager is off till monday so till then he's going to be building up proof on behalf of the company against him.

i have told him i'd like to be kept anonymous but should they need to contact me they can do.

if the area manager was in today chances are they would have come down tomorrow when he's on and suspended him then.

i'm feeling very confident that something will be done.

thank you for your words of wisdom. i just felt under so much stress about this all and needed to vent it.

Honestly my head was pounding all night from thinking about this. I was due to play football last night but my head was elsewhere I couldn't focus on anything. I went shisha and thought I'd put my head phones in and watch Netflix. Couldn't do that.

Now that it's done with and i've got positive feedback it's alot lighter in the head.

I had to do something similar a few years ago and spent a night agonising over what i was about to do.
The feeling of relief when i did it was immense and as more issues came to light i knew i'd made the right decision.

Its the right thing to do and never ever shy away from doing the right thing. A bad apple is rotten to the core and it starts to infect the others....

Never trust a thief and never ever assist them. If you know and decide to ignore it then when it does go belly up and it always does you will be involved one way or another.

It isnt a nice situation and it will have an effect on you one way or another.... but that is life.

Nice work op, a tough, possibLe 'damned if you do....' situation.

don't forget to document what you've seen or experienced so that investigations can tie to takings, recorded transactions etc.

best of luck, you deserve a bit pat on the back from the company. Please let us know how this turns out.

Interesting thread. I have something similar work with my department but it's a internal matter, something that the manager is not aware of and is causing a lot of problems for me and some of my colleagues and it's about the assistant manager and some of the staff that are her friends, they basically do nothing when the manger is out and all the work falls on us. It has been going on for a few years now but recently it has gotten worse, especially as she has got pregnant.

The difficulty I have is our department is divided into two now and everyone is very close so if anything was reported they would instantly know it was me plus these people are basically not sackable, so I dunno if I should bother.

Remember they are not your friends - you have a shared empathy with them as you work together....

If they are shirking their work then Im pretty sure that the management would be interested in hearing about it... If you are doing all the work and they are not then thats deadwood with them - if they were indeed working then the place would be able to do so much more wouldnt it ? They say no body likes a sneak - yeah probably find its the ones being sneaked on that dont like it !

Dont jump in blind but then again dont ignore it. Ways to sort it out.... Audit the work - have pieces of work distributed out and owned by individuals..... that soon wakes them up as soon as they realise that there are league tables out there that indicate quite clearly who has done what etc....

Dont make it obvious and see if here are any ways that you can bring this in without drawing attention to the real reasons that you are working the agenda ;-) many ways indeed softly softly

I can't imagine the investigation process will be too swift, as it needs to be done with care, and there may be some very serious conversations going on behind closed doors So be prepared to sit tight without seeing much happenning. If you hear nothing after a couple of weeks (particularly if the dodgy activity is still going on) I would follow it up.

We had a guy; a manager, at work here a few years ago who was a lazy fker, he just ordered people about and tried to do as little as possible plus he did the odd dodgy thing which cost the company money and procedures and appointments were changed or we were asked to change them to suit him and his day.

Many of us wanted to say something however as it is a relatively small company he would have had a pretty good idea where a complaint would have originated from and he was very cozy with the MD; as these types tend to be, so nothing was said. The best thing that ever happened to this place was when he left.

It'll be interesting to see how this pans out OP.

They're obviously taking this seriously as they've sent the main head audit guy down.
