1979 I left school at 17 and worked at BHS for £40 a week, dole was £25 a week. Then I worked in a Shell garage (When they only sold petrol) for £80 a week but got made redundant so started out as a motorcycle courier.
£100 was my first week's wages and I didn't know my way around at all. Within 6 months I was easily getting between £300 to £400 a week. This was by 1981. A lot of money back then and I owned 3 motorbikes and a couple of cars.

Ignoring holiday and jobs while in full time education.
First job out of uni was an electricians mate on a local building contract in 1996 £5PH 10hours a day six days a week. First proper job
Next was railways electricians mate £8ph 12hours six plus days a week in 1997
Done the same ever since now a team leader now paid a little bit more.
Bullit
