Do you get paid for sick days?
Discussion
Just wondering what proportion of (staff / perm / PAYE) folks get payed when off sick.
I mean in the shoty term - like less thn a week.
The reason I'm interested is that my employer is currently proposing that they'll no longer pay us for less than seven consecutive days off (thereafter, insurance kicks in).
As you can imagine, this has resulted in widespread apoplexy.

3 months full pay, then a sliding scale depending on length of service, long termers get not far off a year full pay. Pretty unusual for my sector but I work for a large charity, most employers offer 5 days full pay over a rolling 12 month period. Triggers for sickness investigation are pretty strict at my work though.
