6 months full pay, then 6 months half pay, then SSP from then on.

Full pay for 5 days in a year then it can continue like this at the managers discretion, so if your a good worker you get full pay.

If on the other hand your a lazy work shy sack of st you will drop onto SSP and rightly so.

Self employed so non paid sickness here - boo. I fell out of a loft hatch down onto the my toolbox on Friday, pretty bad bruising and not sure if I've cracked a rib or not bit it tickles a good bit, fitting a kitchen Monday should be fun.

Mrs works for NHS 111 and full pay for sickness for that lot, and phased returns after long periods of sickness too.

that kind of policy is going to bite an employer on the arse big style one day soon

Same reason they pay you when you for public holidays, or when on leave. Its part of the terms and conditions they are offering, in return for your time. Some jobs also include an element of unpaid overtime, which is equally "wrong".

I'm self employed so I get neither, but thats the choice I made.
