Trusted agency for PM roles.......?

I am currently searching for my next assignment as a contract Project Manager in the Thames Valley. In the past I have never needed to 'go to market' as in the last 8 years of contracting my assignments have always 'found me' through my network.
My network is a little slow at the moment so I have had to turn to the open market, something I have never had to do in the past. Although I have applied for a few contract roles advertised on various job sites I have not had a terrific amount of success - I have found that agencies seem to scan CV's for buzz-words and if there is not a fit then a standard 'thanks but no thanks' eMail hits my inbox, regardless of how close a fit I might be to the requirement.
Can anyone recommend a couple of PM focused agencies that would actually talk to me rather than just try to match me to open job spec's? I am a great believer in personal interaction and relationships opening doors, firing my CV to faceless web-sites is becoming soul destroying - I am certain if I could get in front of a couple of decent, lateral thinking agencies I would be able to secure a contract in a matter of weeks!
