What is your combined hourly working week if you include in your travel time for the job on average.

How many days do you work per week?

Just curious to see how many people actually work 40 hour weeks mon-fri 9-5. It seems people are doing overtime more and more these days and weekends are becoming commonplace.

I work at home, so usually start around 8am, take an hour to walk the dog instead of a lunch hour, finish at 5 or 6 but often carry on after dinner, especially if I have to have a call with another time zone. And emails on weekend days too. I guess that averages about 50 hours.

Have recently significantly reduced both. Gone from 50+ hours down to circa 40, and commute is now 20 minutes across country lanes. I'm not afraid of putting in the hours, but it certainly makes a nice change for it to be the norm to do 40 hours instead of feeling guilty for "only" doing 50.

I work from home 80-90% of the time.... So my commute is reasonable.

I used to work 7am to 7/8pm with a 1.5 hour each way commute....

40hrs a week. Normally 9 - 6ish but do jobs/lunch/gym so it averages lower.
Home based so still 40 hrs.
Any meetings/site visits are in hours normally.

I'll do more if I have to, early and late calls or working to a deadline, late or early travel but it's rare.

37.5hrs a week, on a flexible basis, working from home when I want, basically my contract is budgeted for an annual number of hours, as long as I do those over the year everyone is happy. Commute is 45 mins each way by motorbike, can be 1.5hrs each way by car if traffic bad.

I tend to only do one day a week at home, I like the discipline and sociability of going to the office, the cross-country commute by motorbike is great fun Spring -> Autumn, but miserable and a tad dangerous in Winter.

Just having had a kid means that motorcycling for fun has had to take a back seat for a little bit, so I get my kicks on the commute rather than at the weekend.

35 hours a week, commute is about 20 mins each way. Also expected to travel as and when required and to cover problems arising out of hour but these are reasonably rare.

In around 8 leave around 5. Commute is 1-1.5 hours in total daily.

Could be a lot worse. Plus my commute is driving around South Devon rather than trundling through a city so it's not too bad.

Leave at 6am, home at 8pm - Mon-Fri. So 70 hours / week.

Occasional weekends and late nights.

When I'm working abroad (like now):

Currently doing 6 or 7 days a week and average about 10/11 hours a day at work.
Commute is interesting, but a good run at the right time of day takes 65 minutes, average is about 90 minutes each way, and the worst was 4 hours once trying to get home.
