The business is "open" 830am - 5pm, Mon-Friday - and those are my official hours. Mostly that's what I do, but occasionally evening events or other commitments extend that to 6pm or even 9pm.

I travel for approximately an hour in the morning and then an hour and twenty minutes or thereabouts in the afternoon.

I commute 30 miles each way.

My shifts are 3 week rota.

Week 1 - 40 hours (4 nights)
Week 2 - 60 hours (5 days + 2 nights)
Week 3 - 10 hours (1 night)

So in effect get 6 days off every 3 weeks, but working as a contractor so no proper paid holiday.

I do 59.5 hours a week, assuming I lock up at 5.30pm every day, which never actually happens.

My commute is minimal though, 10 mins on a bad day.

Contracted 37.5 hours though finishing on time is rare so more like 39 over a week. Do get time in lieu for significant late finishes or extra hours. Commute averages about an hour per day depending on start time.

When I first started in my sector my working week was 55 hours so 37.5 is a much nicer experience!

40 hours a week in the office with 5 hours a week commuting (occasionally I need to go to London office which is 2 hours each way)

Unfortunately the cursed blackberry red light means I reply to a lot of emails outside the office as well though (since some very senior people in my company seem to love sending emails at ungodly hours and expect a reply).

This is something I am trying to "eradicate" from my habits especially during the last year, as I am constantly in 70hrs/week territory including the commute. I generally read the mails but I rarely reply now, and they come constantly up to 11.30PM during the week, on Saturday morning and on Sunday evening. Anyway just the reading is enough to annoy me.

What is your combined hourly working week if you include in your travel time for the job on average.

How many days do you work per week?
60/70 hours a week. 5 days a week.

Took one weeks holiday this year. It rained the whole week.

I am actually Spartacus.
