How long with your current employer

I'm 35 and have never worked anywhere for more than 2.5 years. For many years it was occupational hazard of working in a seasonal industry but it has enabled me to work in UK, France, Switzerland, Australia & New Zealand.
I'm just about to change jobs again, hopefully this next move will be a PB with an aim to stay 3 years+
I guess it somewhat depends on what you do.

First job: two weeks, company (Power House) got closed down.
Second: six months, PC World. Treated like s
t, expected to work for free, expected to hit sales targets at 16 with no training. I walked and didn't go back.
Third and current: Eight years
. It was meant to be a part time job before uni. But I decided I wanted to join the Police instead. Sadly they haven't recruited that much in the last five years.
I have moved departments in those eight years, currently a delivery driver which isn't too bad, but like most places it's the people that make it a good place to work or not.
Do have a voluntary job with the Police which I've had for the last five years which I love and keeps me sane!

Longest: Current company - 7 years. Haven't spent more than 2 years in the same position within the company, however. Couldn't see how I'd ever do longer than that in one position without feeling I need to move on - unless that job is Group CEO, of course!
In my industry the average must be much less than 8 years - I'd be surprised if it was 2-3.
